Over in the Atlantic we have Tropical Storm Fiona located approximately 1240 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands with winds of 45 mph and moving to the W-NW at about 10 mph. There are no watches or warnings issued with this storm and we should see some weakening as we head into the weekend. Over on the Pacific side, we have Tropical Storm Kay located approximately 315 miles S-SW of the southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 45 mph and moving to the NW at 7 mph. There are no watches or warnings with this storm. Kay is the eleventh named cyclone of the season. In the news, with no real surprise to anyone, Usain Bolt captured another gold medal last night in the 200 meter race, like the 100 meter, this is his third Olympic gold in a row. Usain says he will retire from racing after this Olympics. Congratulations to him and the people of Jamaica.
