Good morning everyone, hope your Tuesday is off to a good start as we head toward Christmas Day this Sunday. Thinks are fairly quiet around the Caribbean as people prepare to spend time with friends and family this weekend. Checking the weather maps this morning there is nothing really to report other then the traditional showers and occasional thunderstorms in some areas. In the news, we came across an interesting story where Cuba has offered to repay a $276 million dollar debt to the Czeck Republic in Rum!!! You heard right, in Rum!! Monday Update

December 19, 2016

Good morning everyone, we hope you had a very nice weekend. Well, we are in the final week before Christmas, there will be a lot of last minute shoppers out and about as well as a lot of people traveling to visit friends and family. Checking the weather this morning there are no developing storm that we can see. Today and tonight will find the usual scattered showers and occasional thunderstorm in a few spots. Make sure to check the weather before you head out. I just want to mention that this will be the last week that Joey and I will be in the office, we will be taking a sabbatical that will keep us away until May. We will still be doing our duties throughout the Caribbean but we won’t be doing our weather forecasts on the television for awhile. In the news, a big story this past weekend. Prime Minister Allan Chastanet of St Lucia announced they will be scrapping the annual St Lucia Jazz Festival that has drawn large crowds for the past 25 years to the island. Apparently the 14 million price tag for the two week event is too much for the island to handle. It was announced that it will be replaced with a summer festival of music, food and art. Well, that’s all for now. Have a great day everyone and keep checking back.

Thursday Update

December 15, 2016

Good morning everyone, hope your Thursday is off to a good start. I was just reading about the cold weather in the northern US and the snow and windy conditions. It won’t be long until a number of those folks will start planning their trips hopefully to the Caribbean. That will happen usually after the Christmas season. Checking the weather maps today, there are no developing storms for concern. We noticed there might be more scattered showers around today and tonight however then there were yesterday. Don’t forget you can get complete weather information as well as great Caribbean programming everyday on One Caribbean Television. If you are not currently getting the station, make it a point to call your local cable provider and ask them if they might add it to your lineup. Well that’s all for now, kind of a slow day here. Have a good one and keep checking back with us.
