Thursday Thoughts & Updates

November 10, 2016

Good morning everyone, we certainly hope your Thursday is going well. Only one more day till the weekend!! There are a couple things I want to mention this morning, first of all we checked the weather maps for you and there are no developing storms. We will continue to see showers and thunderstorms in spots this evening so check before you head out, and carry an umbrella if you are not sure. One weather related story of a sad note, Kingstown in St Vincent and the grenadines reports one death from heavy rains that moved across the islands a couple days ago bringing flooding and landslides. The flooding caused many closings of schools, government offices and businesses. Apparently the death was from a man trying to clear a storm drain who got swept away in the flood waters. On a brighter note, The Caribbean Tourism Organization released some numbers on tourism lately. Tourism to the Caribbean was up 7% in 2015 and for the first six months of this year was up 5.2%. Caribbean month designed to spotlight the islands is running through November. Well, that’s all for today, have a great day everyone and keep checking back with us.
