Friday Updates & News

Good morning and happy Friday everyone. Joey and I are getting ready to fly to New York this weekend for the big Caribbean Parade in Brooklyn this Monday. We will file some reports and put together a feature on the event for One Caribbean Television. Checking out the weather today, Tropical Storm Fred is in the Atlantic, located about 960 miles W-NW of the Cape Verde Islands with winds of 40 mph and moving to the West at about 10 mph. There are no watches or warnings with this storm and we expect it to decrease to a remnant low either tonight or tomorrow. Over in the pacific we have Tropical Storm Kevin, located about 420 miles W-SW of the Southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 60 mph and moving to the North at 13 mph. There are no watches or warnings associated with this storm and we expect it to decrease to a Tropical Depression on Saturday. One more thing I want to mention, we are watching a Tropical Wave that has formed off the western coast of Africa that is producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms. This system has the potential to develop into something stronger over the next several days so it is worth watching. In the news, two US Presidential candidates are visiting Puerto Rico, Hillary Clinton and Marco Rubio are seeking support for their individual campaigns. It is a national day of morning on the island of Dominica, pausing to reflect on the deaths and damage caused by Tropical Storm Erika last weekend. This storm could set the island back some 20 years. Well that’s all for now, have a great weekend and keep checking back with us.
