Tuesday Update

Good morning everyone, hope your Tuesday is off to a good start. On the weather front this morning, Fred has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, it was a catagory 1 hurricane on Monday. The storm is currently located about 225 miles NW of the cape verde Islands with winds of 65 mph and is moving to the W-NW at 12 mph. There are no watches or warnings issued with this storm As of now it does not look like it will be a threat to anyone but we will continue to watch it closely. Over in the Pacific ocean we now have Tropical Depression 14-E that should become a Tropical Storm sometime today. It is currently located 745 miles S-SW of the Southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 35 mph and moving to the W-NW at 8 mph. There are no watches or warnings issued with this storm right now.Sad news from Dominica where the death toll from Tropical Storm Erika now stands at 25. In the news, Joey and are are getting ready to head to New York City (Brooklyn) to cover the big Caribbean Carnival on Monday, September 7th, it is one of the largest parades in New York.
