Monday Update

July 27, 2015

Good morning everyone, hope you had a great weekend. Checking your weather maps this morning, there are no major storms out there, we are watching two small disturbances in the Pacific that we will continue to watch. In the news, three prisoners that broke out of prison in Trinidad have been caught or killed, that breakout occured on Friday.The alert level for Volcano Kick em Jenny has been downgraded to yellow in Granada. The last eruption was 2001. In sports Jamaica lost to Mexico in the gold cup championship 3-1, it was Mexico’s 7th gold medal. Usain Bolt raced in London this past weekend, the world’s fastest man won the 100 meter race. Nezt up World Championships in China. Joey and I are off to Barbados tomorrow for crop over, don’t forget Carnival Week starts this Thursday night on One Caribbean Television. Have a great day everyone.

Friday Updates

Goof morning and happy Friday to you. As we head to the weekend we are watching a Tropical Depression off the coast of Mexico in the Pacific ocean about 460 WSW of the southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 35 mph and moving NW at 12 mph. There are no watches or warnings with this storm and it appears to be moving out into colder ocean waters which means it should not increase. Other then that we can expect just a few showers and thunderstorms across the region tonight. In the news we are hearing reports of an undersea volcano named Kick Em Jenny near Granada that is being watched closely, apparently the have upped their alert status to orange, I understand Red would be the next move. That volcano last erupted in 2001. We will continue to keep an eye on this story. Big weekend forJamaica as they will play Mexico in the Gold Cup Soccer Championship, Jamaica defeated the US 2-1 to move into the championship game. Well that’s all for now, have a great weekend and don’t forget that Joey and I will be headed to Barbados next Tuesday for the Crop over festival. We will be broadcasting live beginning July 30th on Caribbean Week seen on One Caribbean Television.

Thursday Thoughts and Updates

Good morning everyone, Bob the Parrot here, hope you are all having a good day. Checking the weather maps this morning we are fairy quiet with the exception of the Pacific ocean where we now have Tropical Depression 7-E. This storm is located about 430 miles SW of the Southern tip of Baja California with winds of 35 mph and is moving to the NNW at 9 mph. There are no coastal watches or warnings with this storm. All indications are that this storm will remain over water and will not effect coastal areas of Mexico. In the news, Jamaica scored a big win over the US yesterday in soccer2-1, they were playing each other in the Gold Cup Tournament, they will now play Mexico in the final match. Don’t forget carnival Week begins next week July 30th on One Caribbean Television and runs through August 3rd. If you don’t currently receive One Caribbean Television, call your local cable provider and ask them if they might add it to your lineup. Good news for Haiti, they are up 9% over last years first 4 months in stay over visitors. Granada has added a new sculpture to its underwater sculpture garden, it’s called the nutmeg princess.Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone.

Good morning and happy hump day everyone! Checking your weather maps this morning, there are no major storms to report on. We are still watching a disturbance over in the Pacific ocean that could develop into something stronger over the next couple days. In the news, Trinidad and Tobago is looking into banning tobacco ads on the island, smoking is already banned in public places. A number of people went to the US Embassy in Cuba on Tuesday hoping to get visas, many came away empty handed. Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago have made more arrests in the murder of a prominent attorney on the island awhile back. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Carnival Week on One Caribbean Television. All the action can be seen 8-10Pm July 28 to August 3rd. Tuedsday Update

Good morning everyone, hope your day is going well. In the weather there are no major storms to report on today however we are watching a low pressure in the Pacific that could develop into something stronger over the next several days. In the news, arrests have been made in Trinidad in connection with the murder of a government official several months back. FIFA has announced they will be having new elections for their top officials. It is the anniversary of the first black miss universe, she hails from Trinidad and Tobago, she was crowned 38 years ago, congratulations. Also congratulations to Lime and Flow, two major cable providers in the Caribbean on their merger, I am sure this will provide a better product for the people of the Caribbean. Monday Update

Good morning everyone, we hope you had a great weekend. Joey and I were back in Barbados for the official announcement of the merger between Columbus Communications (Flow) and Cable and Wireless (Lime). Checking the weather today we find no major storms out there, however there is a disturbance in the Pacific that could develop into something stronger over the next several days. In the news, both the US and Cuba have officially opened embassy’s in both countries. Don’t forget Carnival Week is coming to One Caribbean Television July 30 to August 3rd. Everyone is talking about the video from a pro surf event off the coast of South Africa where a shark attacked a surfer, the surfer was able to fight off the shark. Tuesday Updates

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday. Checking the weather this morning we have two storms in the Pacific. Tropical Storm Enrique is located 2085 miles WSW of the Southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 40 mph ans moving WNW at 9 mph. There are no watches or warnings with this storm. The second storm we are monitoring is Hurricane Dolores with winds of 80 mph and is located 245 miles SSW of Cabo Corrientes Mexico. This storm is moving west at 6 mph, there are no watches or warnings with this storm. Neither storm looks like a threar right now but we will continue to watch them for you. In the news, Mexican drug lord Choppa is still at large after escapimg from a federal prison in Mexico. Usain Bolt will be returning to London to participate in games being held there. Trinidad is getting a much needed update to one of their major beaches. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and remember Joey and I will be gone the rest of the week as we travel tomorrow to Barbados on business.

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. Joey and i have just returned from St Vincent and the Grenadines where we were covering Carnival and doing some tourist pieces. We had a great time in St Vincent and want to thank all the folks who made our visit enjoyable. We would also like to thank Flow (Columbus Communications) for inviting us. Checking the weather maps today we have two storms in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico. Tropical Storm Enrique is approximately 1200 miles WSW of the Southern tip of Baja, California with winds of 40 miles per hour and moving NW at 10 mph. There are no watches or warnings with this storm. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dolores could become a hurricane later today is located about 175 miles SSW of Manzanilllo Mexico with winds of 65 mph and is moving WNW at about 12 mph. There are several watches and warnings with this storm. Well that’s all for now, just a reminder that Joey and I will be heading back to Barbados on business Wednesday.
