Thursday Thoughts

Good morning everyone and welcome into the last day of April!! Checking the weather maps this morning we don’t find any developing storms of concern, however there are some pretty good thunderstorms located in Central America. In the news, Barbados singing sensation Rhianna is now the women’s spokesman for Puma athletic ware. St Lucias Jazz and Art Festival kicks off today, it will run for the next 10 days. We are only a couple days away from the fight of the century. The box office is expecting to be staggering. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back with us.

Good morning and happy hump day everyone. Looking at the weather maps there are no major storms to report on today. In the news, a new documentary on Usain Bolt is planned on his training for the 2016 Olympics, rumor has it he may be retiring in 2017. Jeb Bush possible US Presidential candidate was recently in Puerto Rico and he was saying the people of Puerto Rico should have a up or down vote on whether they want to be a state of the US. Super model Christy Brinkley was airlifted from the Turks and Caicos when she sustained an eye injury while trying to rescue a bird.Well that’s all for today, have a great one and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Looking on my calendar I see that the St Lucia Jazz festival will be getting underway this weekend. This will be the 24th festival. That is one of the best and biggest in the Caribbean. I was checking the weather maps earlier today and I don’t see any developing storms of concern, as always there will be scattered showers and a few thunderstorms around, remember you can get complete weather coverage on One Caribbean television. In the news, there are problems in the Caribbean with coral reefs, apparently a number have been destroyed and reports are saying if they are not protected it could be a real hardship on future economy’s. Trinidad and Tobago government officials are appealing to their citizens to be alert for forest fires. The Cayman Islands set a record for tourism in the month of March.Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday to you, we hope you had a great weekend. Well, as we start this last week of April, there are no storms brewing as we look at the weather maps this morning. Don’t forget that you can get complete weather coverage as well as news, sports and entertainment on One Caribbean Television, and as we always tell you, if you are not currently receiving the station, call your local cable provider and ask them if they would add it to your lineup so you can be informed 24/7. In the news, Trinidad and Tobago is rated number 41 in the world as the happiest place to live, and happiest in the Caribbean, keep in mind alot of the smaller islands are not interviewed in the survey. Switzerland was rated number one on that list. The list is growing in Napal after those deadly earthquakes last week, they are now reporting over 3000 dead. Basketball is coming to Cuba, for the first time the NBA conducted a basketball camp on the island recently. Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone, happy Thursday. It won’t be long now until the weekend. Checking our weather maps this morning, there are no developing storms to report on. In the news, St Lucia is busily preparing for the annual jazz festival at the end of the month. Well it’s now official, the Pope will visit Cuba ahead of his visit to the US this fall. Pope Francis was responsible for getting talks between the US and Cuba back on track after many years. Puerto Rico’s government reports it is close to shutting down because of financial problems, the last time the government shut down was in 2006. The Bob Marley musical is set to take to the stage next month in Baltimore Maryland. Well that’s all for now. Joey and I will be away tomorrow so we will check back with you on Monday. Good morning everyone, all together now…..happy hump day!!!! Well, it’s all downhill to the weekend now!! Seriously, we hope you are having a good day so far. Checking the weather maps again this morning there are no storms brewing out there that could give us a problem. There are however scattered showers and a few thunderstorms across the region. In the news congratulations to Provo in the Turks and Caicos islands for being named the best island in the world by trip advisor, they were ranked number 2 on last years list. Roatan off the coast of Honduras came in third. Maui in Hawaii came in second by the way. Today is earth day for your information. Well that’s now, have a great day and keep checking back with us.

Good morning everyone, is it Tuesday already!! Checking the weather maps this morning there are no developing storms of concern. We are watching the Pacific closely for our friends and viewers in Mexico because that is where the storms tend to originate early in the season. I want to put in another plug for our friends in St Lucia, The Saint Lucia Jazz festival is coming up at the end of the month, this has long been considered one of the best jazz festivals in the Caribbean. A few news stories of interest on this Tuesday, the big drug trial of four Frenchman in the Dominican Republic has been posponed for the forth time. Jamaica has planted the first legal marajuana plant at the University of West Indies for research for the plant. A special report from the Caribbean talks about the danger of cliff diving by tourists, a number have been injured in the practice. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday, we hope you all had a nice weekend. Joey and i really didn’t do anything special other then relax and re charge the old batteries. In the news a drug bust off the coast of Martinique has recovered over two tons of cocaigne.It is the biggest bust on the islands history. Municipal elections were held in Cuba this past weekend, Fidel Castro was photographed casting his vote, Fidel has not been seen in public for about two years. Word from St Vincent and the Grenadines that they will be holding their carnival July 2-7th.There is word that the Pope may be planning a visit to Cuba, stay tune for details. Good morning and T.G.I.F. everyone. Well, we are on the doorstep of another weekend. Checking the weather maps we don’t see any developing storms that should give you any trouble heading into the weekend.In the news, Usain Bolt was in Brazil last week, Brazil willl host the next summer Olympics. The Bahamas will celebrate their first carnival next month, you can check their web sight for all the information. I was also told St Vincent and the Grenadines will hold their carnival in July. Don’t forget you will get complete coverage of events in the Caribbean on One Caribbean Television. If you don’t currently receive the station, call your cable provider and ask them to add it to your lineup. All eyes are on London, the birth of the next royal baby could be anytime soon. Good morning everyone, Bob The parrot here. Hope your day is going well, hard to believe we are half way through another month. I don’t know where Joey is, I sent him off to get me a cup of coffee and he hasn’t come back yet (it’s so hard to find good help!!!) Checking the weather maps this morning, no new developing storms to report on. Speaking of that, I have not seen any projections for the upcoming hurricane season yet. Let’s hope the season is as quiet as the past couple have been. Just a reminder, the big St Lucia Jazz festival is coming up April 30 to May 10th. headliner this year will be Robin Thicke. This has traditionally been one of the better jazz festivals in the Caribbean.In the news, an auto accident in Haiit has killed 8 people, and injured a number more. Former pro football player Aaron Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for killing a Caribbean man. Jamaica’s relaxed marajuana laws are now in effect on the island.
