Friday Updates

February 27, 2015

Good morning everyone and happy Friday. Well, we have reached the end of another week and will say goodbye to another month tomorrow. Checking the weather maps as we head to the weekend we don’t see any storms that might give us trouble. Be assured however that we will be watching and monitoring over the weekend. This is also a chance for me to remind you that you can get complete weather coverage as well as great programming geared exclusively to the Caribbean on One Caribbean Television. If you are not currently receiving the station, call your local cable provider and ask them if they might not add it to your lineup. In the news, there was a special program on CBS TV last night about the swimsuit models of Sports Illustrated that was filmed entirely in Puerto Rico. Dr Daniel Douglas is calling foul in the latest elections in St Kits and Nevis, he was Prime Minister for 20 years. Good news for Puerto Rico where they continue to set cruise ship records Thursday they had six ships in port at one day and a record number of people. Cuba is having a huge cigar show on the island, today there was a contest to see who could produce the longest ash, last year a woman won with an ash a little over six inches!! Thursday Thoughts

Good morning and happy Thursday everyone, this week has certainly flown by. Checking the weather maps today we find no developing storms or anything that should cause problems, we will continue to watch and monitor the situation however for you. In the news, don’t forget the big Carona Surf championship happening next weekend in Rincon Puerto Rico with prize money of $35 thousand dollars, this will be the 37th competition. I have a correction on a story reported yesterday, I said the new Mariott Hotel in Haiti will provide 400 jobs, in reality that number will be around 200. Big news out of Jamaica where they have relaxed some laws concerning marijuana, it does not make it completely legal however it does relax some of the penalties if caught with the weed. A big concert in Cuba last night where the Dead daisies performed, they are a band from the US. Well, that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back with us.

Good morning and happy hump day everyone. Checking the weather this morning, there are no major storms to report on. In the news a new mall is opening soon in Puerto Rico. The San Juan mall will open on march 21st near the airport. In other news out of Puerto Rico, the big Corona 27th Surf Championship will take place in Rincon the first weekend in march on the 6th and 7th. Good news for Port of Spain in Haiti where a new Mariott Hotel will open, the 4 star hotel will employ 400 people. Well that’s all for today, have a great one everyone.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. I hope your day is going well so far. Checking the weather maps this morning there are no storms of concern. Keep in mind, the official hurricane season will start up again June 1st. In the news there is a new cabinet in place in St Kits and Nevis. The president of Venezuela is currently in Trinidad for talks about energy matters. Puerto Rico is currently hosting swimsuit models from Sports Illustrated, they are filming a special that will be seen on tv soon. Good morning everyone, Joey and I are back fro the Curacao carnival. The carnival was a huge success and joey and I were happy to bring it to you on One Caribbean television. Thank you to the wonderful people of curacao for making our visit so special. Checking the weather maps this morning there are no storms of concern. In the news the people of Haiti continue to morn the death of 18 people during their carnival festival. In Puerto Rico a recent Power Ball winner has come forward with the winning ticket, however they have asked not to be identified, I think you can understand why. Anthum of The Seas is a new ship by Carnival has recently been launched, they can carry about 4000 people. The ship will eventually tour the Caribbean. Happy anniversary to St Lucia that is celebrating 36 years of independence. Well that’s all for now, it is great to be back with you and joey and I will see you on One Caribbean Television.

Tuesday Thoughts

Good morning everyone, hope your Tuesday is going well so far. Joey and I have been busy packing for our trip tomorrow to Curacao. If you haven’t been reading my recent posts, we will be broadcasting carnival live for Curacao beginning this Friday, all part of carnival Week on One Caribbean Television, I hope you can join us. Also, we would like to welcome our new viewers in the United Kingdom who are now watching us on Caribbean TV. Checking the weather maps for you this morning there are no storms brewing that we need to be concerned with, there are showers and thunderstorms around but no major storms. Remember, hurricane season begins again on June 1st. In the news, with carnival days away, anti government protesters in Haiti are threatening to disrupt festivities because of high gas prices on the island. The Queen of the Pacific has been released after 7 years in prison. She was involved with drug trafficking between Columbia and Mexico. Good morning everyone, we hope you had a great weekend and thanks for checking back with us. Checking the weather maps this morning there are no major storms to report and no developing storms that we can see. In the news congratulations to Ziggy Marley who won for best reggae album last night at the grammy’s. This is the second year in a row that Ziggy has won this honor. Ziggy is the oldest son of legand Bob Marley. In sports, Usain Bolt, Jamaica’s 6 time Olympic gold medal winner is scheduled to begin his 2015 season this Saturday at the Camperdown Classic, Usain is a member of the racers track club. Finally today, Joey and I are headed to Curacao for their carnival this Wednesday, we will be broadcasting live from the event beginning on Friday. Have a great day everyone and keep checking back.

Good morning and TGIF everyone. Well, we are on the verge of another weekend and we certainly hope the weather will cooperate with whatever plans you have. Checking the weather maps this morning there are no developing storms that we see but be assured that we will continue to watch and monitor over the weekend and let you know if anything does develop. Joey and I are looking forward to our trip to Curacao next week for carnival. Make sure to be watching for the annual carnival week on One Caribbean Television, it’s almost as fun as being there!!! Just another reminder that if you are not currently receiving One Caribbean Television, call your local cable provider and ask them to add the station to your lineup, that way you won’t miss a minute of news, weather and sports as well as great Caribbean programming. In the news, another day of unrest in Haiti where they continue to protest high gas prices. Trinidad officials have issued a warning to party revelers not to wind on police officers or you could end up in jail. Happy Birthday to Bob Marley who would have turned 70 today. Thursday Thoughts

Good morning everyone, we hope your Thursday is going well. First of all, checking the weather maps this morning we find no developing storms or real areas of concern other then the normal showers and occasional thunderstorm that we see daily. The annual Caribbean Cable Operators meeting is currently being held in Montego bay, Jamaica. All indications are that they have a good turnout again this year. The organization meets yearly to discuss that state of cable throughout the Caribbean and to meet with vendors to look at new products and programs that they might want to add. In other news, numerous carnivals will be coming up soon throughout the Caribbean, if you will be traveling you might want to check ahead to see if your destination will be celebrating, there is nothing like carnival in the Caribbean!! In other news, hundreds of protesters moved through the capital of Haiti in protest of high gas prices. Even though the government lowered the price slightly, most people say it is not enough. The Caribbean baseball tournament is currently being played in Puerto Rico and word has it that two players from Cuba have defected. Congratulations to model Hanna Davis who hails from The USVI, she is the new cover model on The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

Wednesday Updates

Good morning everyone and happy hump day!! Checking the weather maps today we find no developing storms to be concerned with. In the news, carnival season is about to move into high gear. Joey and I will be traveling to Curacao next week to broadcast and participate in their carnival. Don’t forget that carnival week is coming soon to One Caribbean Television. To see all the action contact your local cable provider and ask them to add the channel to your lineup if you are not already receiving it. Royal Caribbean had to turn back to Baltimore with an illness on board. Miriah Carry is getting some criticism from her performance in the Jamaica Jazz and Blues festival, apparently she botched the words on some songs and had a weak lip sinc performance on another song, a lot of people still enjoyed seeing her in person however. People are talking about the footage of a plane crash in Taiwan, 23 people were killed in that cash. Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone and keep checking back with us.
