Thursday Thoughts

Good morning and happy Thursday to you all. Just a reminder that Joey and I will be away tomorrow but we will be back with you on Monday. Checking the weather maps today there are two areas that we are watching. First, we have a low pressure moving West from the Northern Virgin Islands producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Second we have Tropical Depression 21 E off the coast of Mexico in the Pacific. This storm is located approximately 410 miles South of Acapulco Mexico with winds of 35 mph and is moving to the West at 6 mph. There are no coastal watches or warnings yet with this storm. A couple dozen immigrants from Cuba were rescued off the coast of Florida this week, they will be returned to their country. Speaking of Cuba a large medical seminar was held recently in the island, Ebola was the main topic. Cuba has been the leader in sending volunteers to fight Ebola abroad. Don’t forget, hurricane season ends November 30th in the Atlantic. You can get all your daily updates on any potential storms at One Caribbean Television. Today marks the two year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy that caused many deaths and billions of dollars of damage to the Caribbean and United States. Wednesday Thoughts

Good morning everyone and happy hump day. Checking your weather this morning we are watching a low pressure located in the northern Leeward Islands that is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. We will watch this closely over the next couple days to see if I will develop into something more. Just a reminder to the folks in San Juan Puerto Rico that the annual black and blue gala to support muscular dystrophy will be held Nov. 15th, your support would be appreciated. Another reminder that Halloween is coming up in a couple days. If your celebrate this occasion where you live be very careful of the little ghosts and goblins that will be out in search of candy, many times they are not paying attention and the costumes and masks they are wearing make it hard to see, so be on the lookout for them!! One of the Cuban volunteers sent to fight the ebola virus has died, not of ebola but rather from malaria. Well that’s all for today, have a good one and keep checking back with us.

Tuesday Thoughts and Updates

Good morning all, thanks for stopping back. Checking the weather maps this morning we are watching a tropical wave combined with a upper level trough that producing a large are a clouds and thunderstorms from the Lesser Antillies eastward into the Atlantic. We could see some development with this system over the next several days. In the meantime look for gusty winds and some locally heavy rain for portions of the lesser Antillies today. We also are watching remnants of Hanna that will bring some heavy rain over Honduras and Northern Nicaragua today. Friends and family in The Dominican Republic continue to morn the loss of Oscar Tavaras the rookie baseball player with the St Louis cardinals who died in a car crash. Monday Updates

Good morning everyone, hope your Monday is off to a good start and I hope you had a good weekend. Well, here we are , the last week of October. Sad news form the Dominican Republic where Oscar Tavaras of the St Louis Cardinals was killed over the weekend in a car crash on the island. Also some bad news for the woman’s soccer team from Trinidad and Tobago who lost over the weekend in their bid to gain a place in the World Cup. Checking the weather maps, there are no major storms out there to report on. There are numerous showers and thunderstorms around and of course you can get complete weather forecasts for the Caribbean on One Caribbean television. There is a new exhibit at the field museum in Chicago about Vo-D0, explaining the religious aspects of the Haitian religion. Well that’s all for now, have a good day and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone and T.G.I.F. Heading into the weekend we are looking pretty good on the weather front, we have no major storms out there to report on. Be assured however that we will be watching over the weekend and you can get complete weather information and updates all weekend long on One Caribbean Television. Just a reminder that if you don’t already get One Caribbean Television, make a call to your local cable provider and ask them if they would add it to your lineup. Granada’s Prime Minister Keith Mitchell met with the Pope on Thursday, we are told he invited him to visit the Caribbean. The Trinidad and Tobago women’s soccer team is one game away from going to the Woman’s World Cup, they play Costa Rica today. Good luck to the Soca princesses. Good morning everyone and happy Thursday. Checking the weather maps we find no major storms out there. There are numerous showers and thunderstorms around but no major storms. heavy rains continue to fall across the Yucatan peninsula from a tropical depression we were watching yesterday in the bay of Campeche. In news, Cuba is sending more doctors to help in the fight against Ebola. Cuba has sent more doctors then any other country. There is a new film just released on the terrible earthquake that struck Haiti a couple years back. 500 clowns in Mexico City tried to break the record for laughing recently, but they failed!! Better luck next time. Well that’s all for now, I’m going to see if I can break the world record for taking a nap. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning and happy hump day everyone. I can’t believe how fast this month is passing by, I looked at the calendar and it is the 22nd already! Checking on the weather maps this morning we find Tropical Depression #9 about 120 miles WSW of Campeche Mexico with winds of 35 mph and sitting stationary. This could very well become a Tropical Storm later today. Look for anywhere from 5-10 inches of rain with this storm with as much as 15 inches in some areas. We are also concerned with potential flash flooding. Remember you can get complete updates on this storm as well as all your weather information 24-7 on One Caribbean television. Good morning everyone, I hope your Tuesday is off to a good start. Just a reminder for our friends in Puerto Rico, the annual black and blue gala to benefit muscular dystrophy will be held in San Juan on November 15th, there is still time to make your reservation for this worth while event. Checking the weather maps today there are no big storms out there to report on, however we do have a couple areas we are watching. There is a low pressure around the Azores that we are watching, this may try to develop into something bigger. We also have low pressure near the bay of Campeche that looks like it might try to develop into something over the next several days. Good morning everyone, it is great to be back. There was a little excitement last week I hear with that Hurricane near Bermuda. I am glad to say as we start the new week there are no major storms that we are watching. There is some activity around the Bay of Campeche in mexico and another low pressure moving off the coast of Africa that we will be watching over the next couple of days however. Ebola continues to dominate the world news, how much it will effect travel is yet to be seen. Well that is all for now, again it is good to be back with you all. have a great day.

Good morning and T.G.I.F. As we head into another weekend there are no major storms in the Atlantic, Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico. Over in the Pacific however we have tropical Storm Simon that could develop into a Hurricane by Saturday. Currently located about 325 miles SSE of the Southern tip of Baja, California, this storm has winds of 50 mph and is moving West at about 7 mph. There are no coastal watches or warnings as of now. This storm should pass over or near Socorro Island today. Don’t forget that Joey and I will be gone for a couple weeks beginning on Monday Oct 6th. Just a reminder if you and your family are not receiving One Caribbean Television, make sure to call your cable provider and ask them if they would add it to your lineup. Well it looks like they will not be filming the 5th Pirates of The Caribbean movie in the Caribbean, it has been announced they will be filming in Australia.
