Wednesday Updates

April 30, 2014

Good morning everyone, thanks for checking back. Checking your weather maps this morning there are no brewing storms to be concerned about as we are officially one month from the beginning of the Atlantic hurricane Season. A couple of reminders, first if you have any events going on in your area pleases send them along to us so we can mention them here and on One Caribbean Televisions Community Calendar. Also if you don’t get One Caribbean Television you might want to call your cable provider and ask them to add it to your lineup. Everyone who watches the NBA has been watching closely the story coming out of Los Angeles, it appears the owner of the Clippers has been banned for life for racist remarks he made to his girlfriend. Well that’s all for now, keep checking back and have a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens and it is good to be back after being away for a couple weeks. I am just trying to get caught up on what’s going on around the Caribbean. Looking at the weather maps this morning there are no major storms on the horizon, remember that we are about one month away from the official start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. A grizzly story out of St Lucia where a charred body was found in a burnt out range rover. A new re cycling program has begun in Haiti. Good news for the resort areas of Mexico where tourism seems to be up after being down because of drug trafficking over the past several years. Recovery has been slow but promising. Well that’s all for now, it is great to be back, see you on One Caribbean Television.

The only man to serve as both President and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson, has died at the age of 87. Well, baseball season has arrived, I am sure there is much interest throughout the Caribbean with many players from the region playing in the big leagues. Well that’s all for today, have a great day and we will be in touch when we get back.

Good morning and happy hump day everyone. Still no storms to report on as we hit the halfway mark of the week. Just a reminder Joey and I will be off Friday until the end of the month as we take a little time off for Easter to visit with friends and family. Big news for college basketball fans, the U Con men’s and women’s teams both won national championships, I don’t know if that has ever been done before but it is quite amazing, congratulations to them both. Excitement is beginning to show as we are getting closer to the World Cup which starts June 12th. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

The Pacific Hurricane season begins May 1 and the Atlantic season follows on June 1. Sorry to hear about the passing of Mickey Rooney an American film star and legend, he was 93. It appears that the soldier who was involved with the Fort Hood shooting has family in Puerto Rico. An annual report rates Virgin America and Jet Blue as the best. Passengers are happier then the past, however more bags are lost then in previous years. Passengers are frustrated. Visa has issued a new ad with Usain Bolt where he morfs into a football player for the world cup that kicks off June 12th. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

Monday Kick Off

April 7, 2014

Good morning everyone and happy Monday. I hope you all had a great weekend. Starting a new week is always hard, I am on my second cup of coffee already!! I checked the weather maps for you this morning and there are no storms out there to show concern. Just to give you a heads up, Joey and I will be gone this Friday and then for a couple weeks. Just a reminder of the big kite flying event going on in Granada over the Easter weekend. If you are a big basketball fan tonight is the National Championship game between Kentucky and U Con, two teams that many folks gave a chance of getting this far in the tournament. Interesting game tomorrow night in the women’s national championship wher two undefeated teams play each other…Notre Dame vs U Con, that should be a real battle. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.
