Friday Updates

Good morning everyone….TGIF!!! Well, we have come to the end of another week and we still don’t have any major storms on the horizon so that bodes well for us as we head into the weekend. Do you realize that March is almost over!? Joey and I will be away form the weather center next week until Thursday, we have some business to take care of. I understand that have found some debree from that downed airliner, at least they think it may be , that is so sad, I hope they get some closure for the family’s involved. David Evans from Britain may be the next CEO for Liat airlines, the airline had been without a leader for 6 months. A recent report shows a large number of people moving out of Puerto Rico for various reasons. The unemployment rate in Puerto Rico is 15.2%. Well that is all for now, have a great weekend everyone.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here as we slip one day closer to another weekend. Looking over the weather maps this morning there are no major storms to report on. I hear Ziggy Marley is working on his fifth album, can’t wait to hear it. Barbados will be ending their mandatory death penalty, the last person executed in Barbados was back in 1984. Academy award winning director Steve McQueen was recently spotted in Granada to visit his mother. His film 12 years a slave won the academy award for best picture of the year. There have been a number of celebrities sighted on the island of Granada lately inclusing, Bill Gates, Mick Jagger and Morgan Freeman. Good morning everyone, happy hump day!! Looking over the weather maps there are no storms to deal with today. Big meeting in Washington DC to discuss the cruise industry and how they can improve the product. The industry has come under criticism the past couple years with a number of problems. Panama and Mexico are discussing a free trade agreement. Even though the calendar say spring, winter continues for the northern sections of the US with snow and frigid temps….so much for global warming!!! There is a new chocolate factory in Granada, this will be the second on the island. Well that’s all for today, have a great one and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Things are looking good with the weather maps this morning, no major storms to report on. Mark your calendars for June 1st the official start to hurricane season. Coming up in Granada will be their big kite flying contest Easter weekend. A recent report says Haiti has the highest rate of collera in the world. Reports are now saying that the airliner from Malasya has crashed in the ocean with no survivors. Justin Timberlake and his wife recently were spotted vacationing in Barbados where they stayed at the popular Sandy Lane resort. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. I hope you all had a great weekend. If you are a basketball fan there were some great games over the weekend in the college March madness and some major upsets (there goes my brackets!!!) Checking the weather maps on this Monday there are no major storms to report on. Don’t forget if you have some special activity happening where you live, send it along to us at One Caribbean Television and we will pass it along and also get it on the Community Calendar. Also a reminder if you are still not getting One Caribbean Television on your cable system, call your cable provider and ask them if they would consider adding it to your lineup. Still no major news on that passenger plane that disappeared. Interesting story the other day when a crew ship came to the rescue of some Cuban immigrants stranded in the ocean, the coast guard showed up to take the people that were on the boat. Good morning and TGIF!!! Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey. Well, we have reached the end of another week and are headed for the weekend. Checking the weather maps for today there are no major storms out there and things like they will remain fairly quiet for the weekend. Interesting story developing in Cuba where Russia is trying to put a military base on the island, this will be very interesting because tensions between Cuba and the Us have eased over the past several years. Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Well it is officially the first day of spring but you would not know it by looking outside in parts of the US!!! Checking the weather maps this morning there are no major storms to report on. It is now day 13 for that missing airliner, let’s hope they figure out the mystery soon…keep in mind there were over 200 passengers on board!!! If you are going to be in the Granada area over the Easter weekend they are planning a large kite flying event that promises to be a lot of fun. Good morning everyone and happy hump day!!! Weather wise there are no major storms to report on. Keep in mind that we kick back into hurricane season on June 1st. Serious conditions exist in Northeast Haiti where draught conditions have existed for the past eight months. According to sourced they have lost a couple crops and water is at a shortage. The Governor of Puerto Rico has announced 26.5 million dollars worth of waterfront improvements on that island. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone and thanks for checking back. Getting back in the swing of things after being away for two weeks. Checking the weather this morning we find no real concerns but we will continue to watch out for you. Word out of San Juan Puerto Rico that the sangria fest was very successful again this year. That story of the missing plane is sure baffling, I hope they can discover what happened for the sake of the family’s that had loved one’s aboard. Joey and I were amazed at the number of kids on spring break that we saw in Punta Cana last week. Spring is just around the corner, however it is still very cold in parts of the US. Cuba is moving ahead on possibly having one currency, they currently have two. Shaggy will be performing at the Antigua Sailing Week, he is very popular with a wide variety of ages.Well that’s all for today, have a great one and keep checking back.

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here with my buddy Joey Stevens. First of all Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all our Irish friends, you know what they say, today everyone is Irish!!! It is great to be back with you, we were in Curacao for their carnival, thank you to all the wonderful people of Curacao that made our visit special. The carnival was a huge success and again very organized, our hats go off to the committee. We spent last week in the Dominican Republic where we had a chance to visit the local boys orphanage in Punta Cana, Columbus Communications was able to donate 12 thousand US dollars raised through their charity golf classic.
