Fantastic Friday

Good morning all my friends across the Caribbean, Bob The Parrot here and of course, TGIF!! Big weekend coming up, Joey and I hop on the plane tomorrow for Puerto Rico and then on to St Lucia next week. This is also the weekend of the Super Bowl, probably the only major event where the commercials are as big as the event itself!! Checking the weather maps for you this morning, there are no major storms to report on as we head into the weekend. Another crew ship had to come into dock because of sickness, Princess line is the latest to be affected. Apparently there has been a ban put on jet skis in Jamaica at the resorts because of a recent death. Well that’s all for now, have a great weekend and remember Joey and I will be away next week, see you when we get back.

Thursday Thoughts and Updates

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. I was just looking at the calendar, hard to believe we are almost done with January already!! Checking the weather maps this morning we are showing no storms of concern. Speaking of weather looks like they will be getting a slight warm up in the Northeast US this weekend, that is good news for those folks who will be sitting outside watching the Super Bowl this Sunday. Getting ready to head down to Puerto Rico on Saturday, this will be the second year in a row that we have watched the Super Bowl at Shannon’s Irish Pub. The Royal Caribbean crew ship is back in dock with it’s sick passengers, the ship is expected to get a good scrub down and then set sail again tomorrow. Justin Beiver is busted again, this time in Toronto, he faces charges of striking a limo driver…this kid really needs some discipline. Wednesday Updates

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here on “Hump Day”….getting ready for out trip to St Lucia next week to help raise funds for the St Lucia Red Cross to help victims of the devastating floods of Christmas Eve. Looking at the weather maps today there are no major storms out there to report on, however be assured we will continue to watch and monitor the situation. Another large drug bust in Miami, Florida with ties to the Caribbean recently. That’s all for now, have a great day everyone and keep checking back.

Tuesday Thoughts

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. The day is starting fairly slow but I’m sure it will be picking up. There are no big storms to report on today. Joey and I will be heading to San Juan Puerto Rico this weekend and then down to St Lucia next week to help the red cross raise some funds to help the victims of the flooding that occurred on Christmas eve. Southwest airlines will be adding 3 flights into the Caribbean beginning in July 1st, Aruba, The Bahamas and Jamaica will be on the new routes. This is great news for the Caribbean. Monday Morning Update

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Royal Caribbean had to cut their tour short because of a flu epidemic on board, more than 300 crew and passengers were struck with the illness. Congratulations to Ziggy Marley who took home the award for the best regge album last night in the Grammys. Checking the weather maps, there are no major storms to report as we start the week. The Jamaica bobsled team is in the house and ready for the Olympics…good luck to them. All eyes are on America this week as the Super Bowl will be played outside in New Jersey this weekend and it promises to be very cold!! Good morning everyone, all together now….TGIF!!! Well, we have come to the end of another week. Looking at the weather maps there are no big storms out there that should spoil your weekend plans. Peter Adam Cook from BVI Tortola will be performing in the upcoming Olympics in half pipe skiing. It looks like the Caribbean will be well represented in the Olympics. Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. This week is quickly coming to a close. Looking at the weather maps today there are no storms that we need to be concerned with. Just a reminder if you have anything special happening where you live and you would like to promote it just send a few lines along to Joey or myself and we will see that it gets on the community calendar and we will mention it here in this forum. The Caribbean Cable Operator will hold their annual meeting in San Juan Puerto Rico shortly, this is always a big event and well attended. The Trinidad company that makes the juice cans used in a large cocaine smuggling bust says the labels were counterfit and not theirs. More reforms coming out of Cuba where residents are now allowed to rent out rooms. It’s good to see the country giving more and more freedoms to it’s residents. Wednesday Updates

Good morning everyone, I hope your Wednesday is going well so far. We are looking good on the weather front again today with no major storms on the horizon. Joey and I will be heading to St Lucia the first of February to help raise funds for the Red Cross on the island that had their building damaged by fire. They need funds so they in turn can help the people of St Lucia that were affected by the heavy rains and mud slides of Christmas Eve. Any donations to the red cross would be greatly appreciated, keep checking back here and we will let you know where you can donate. It is a scary time for the Olympics with the threats of possible disruption, it is so sad that such a wonderful event for the world has to be a political stage for some people, let’s hope everything works out well. Don’t forget the world’s best 10 k is coming up in February in San Juan Puerto Rico, if you haven’t registered you better get moving! Virginia reporting a cocaine drug bust over the holidays that the thing originated in Trinidad, over 700 pounds of the drugs were found in juice cans, it was the largest bust in Virginia history. Good morning and happy Tuesday everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Checking the weather maps for you this morning there are no storms to report on. Good news for the Jamaica bobsled team, they have raised over $100,000.00 in 24 hours to support their entry into the 2014 Olympics coming up in a couple weeks. I understand there is also a gentleman from Jamaica that will be trying to qualify in the alpine skiing event, he is in Austria this week trying to achieve that goal. Don’t forget you can keep up with all the events and weather happening in the Caribbean on One Caribbean Television, if you don’t get the station please call your cable provider and ask them if they would add it to your lineup. Cuba had opened up the car market on the island, people can now buy autos however there is one large problem, the prices are so high many folks can’t afford them!! Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here, I hope you all had a very nice weekend. The Jamaica bobsled team has reached Russia for the Olympics, apparently they are strapped for cash however for equipment. They are trying to raise $80,000.00 for their trip. Apparently they are not getting any support from the Jamaica Olympic committee. Royal Caribbean had some problems with flue on its voyage to the Bahamas recently, a number of passengers and crew came down with the virus. If you are an American football fan, the Super Bowl this year will be between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks. On the weather front, there are no major storms to begin the week. Travel is up in Cuba some 35% since the country loosened the restrictions on travel for citizens. Well that’s all for now, have a great day and keep checking back with us.
