Goodby 2013

December 31, 2013

Good morning everyone on this last day of 2013. Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens. This past year has been a very good year for Joey and myself as we have traveled the Caribbean meeting with old friends and meeting new ones. Looking back there have been some sad times with various storms that have caused distruction and loss of life on some islands. It was a very good year for Usain Bolt and the island of Jamaica. One Caribbean Television continues to grow and expand it’s coverage in the Caribbean. I would like to announce that Joey and I have signed a new contract that will keep us with One Caribbean Television through the end of 2015. Looking at the weather maps today there are no major storms out there today. Well that’s all for now and for this year…we will see you in 2014!!!!

Friday Roundup

December 27, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here and TGIF!!! The big story today continues to be the cleanup that is taking place in St Vincent and St Lucia. We have reports of between 14 and 20 people who have lost their lives in the flooding and mud slides that occurred earlier this week. Checking the weather maps today we are showing some scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region but no major storms out there as we head into the weekend. We should also mention that the southern region of Dominica also suffered severe damage from the Christmas eve storms. Do you realize that this is the last weekend of 2013!!! Well that’s it for now, have a great weekend and keep checking back.

Thursday Thoughts and Updates

December 26, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Joey and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Still getting reports out of St Lucia and St Vincent about the flooding and deaths that occurred Tuesday night into Wednesday, neither island was prepared for that much water. Looking at the weather maps today there are no major storms to report on, however there are a number of showers and thunderstorms throughout the region. Well it looks like the countdown has begun for the new year, 2014 is just around the corner. Some sad news out of Haiti where a number of people were killed when their boat capsized while they were trying to reach the US or the Bahamas. Well that’s all for today, thanks for checking back and have a great day.

Christmas Eve

December 24, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens and we wish you the very best on this day before Christmas. Any youngsters who are reading this today make sure to get to bed early tonight and don’t forget to leave some Cookies and Rum for Santa, oh…I mean milk!!! Checking the weather maps, other then a few showers and thunderstorms around we are not seeing any major storms to be concerned with. Looks like SEABORNE Airlines will be moving from St Croix to San Juan Puerto Rico this will be quite a loss of jobs in the US Virgin Islands. Haiti has recently renamed one of their famous streets in honor of the late Nelson Mendella. Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone and Merry Christmas.

Thursday Thoughts

December 12, 2013

Good morning everyone, hope your Thursday is going well. Winter has really set into the US many temps are below freezing with snow and ice. As far as our friends in the Caribbean there are no major storms out there. Don’t forget if you plan on running in the World’s Best 10k race in Puerto Rico in February, registration is going on now. You might also be interested in signing up to run with our own Kara Coleman during the race, that promises to be lots of fun. Congratulations to Brian Lilly, one of the owners of One Caribbean Television who was given an award in New York recently for his support of the Caribbean through his business venture. Interesting note, the new mayor of New York is married to a woman with Caribbean roots, the first lady’s family is from Barbados. Well that’s all for today, keep checking back and have a good one.

Wednesday Updates

December 11, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here, thanks for checking in. Congratulations to Tessann Chin of Jamaica for advancing into the final three on the hit US show The Voice. Checking the weather maps there are no major storms on the horizon. There is some hope coming out of the handshake between President Castro and President Obama at Nelson Mandella’s funeral, many are hoping for some easing of tensions between the two countries. The days are getting closer to Christmas, as I told you yesterday that Joey and I will be off next week. Word has it they are shooting parts of the “22 Jump Street” movie in Puerto Rico and the San Juan area. That’s it for now, have a great day everyone.
