Friday Updates and Thoughts

November 29, 2013

Good morning and happy Friday everyone, Bob The Parrot here. As we head into the weekend there are no major storms in the Pacific, over in the Atlantic we have a non tropical low pressure midway between the lesser antillies and the azores. There are disorganized showers and thunderstorms with this system that will be slow to develop over the next couple days. By the way, this is the quietist hurricane season since 1982, I’m sure there are not many people sorry about that!! Just a couple reminders, if you have an event you would like to share just drop us a line and we will get it on our community calendar. Also, keep up to date with all your forecast needs on One Caribbean Television…if you don’t get the station call your provider and ask them to add it to your lineup. Well that’s it for now, have a great weekend.

Thursday Thoughts

November 28, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. A very Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends who celebrate the holiday. Out in the Atlantic we are watching a surface troph that is producing some showers and thunderstorms. This system has the potential to develop into something more. Right now we think there is a small chance of development into a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours with a medium chance of development over the next 5 days….we will continue to watch and report. Looks like the merger of US Air and American Airlines is moving forward, this will make them the largest airline in the world and hopefully it will mean good things for Caribbean passengers. Well that’s all for now, keep checking back and have a great day.

Tuesday Thoughts

November 26, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. I have been keeping a very low profile the past couple days, this Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the US when people usually enjoy a turkey dinner….I certainly don’t want them mistaking me for a turkey!!!! Joey on the other hand has been looking at me strangely as of late…..On the weather front there are no new storms brewing in either the Pacific or the Atlantic. This weekend officially marks the end of the hurricane season, it has been a very quiet season (thank goodness) compared to the predictions of busier then normal season. It’s also interesting to see how many Christmas decorations are up already!!! Well that’s it for now, keep checking back and have a wonderful day.

Monday Updates

November 25, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Joey and I hope you all had a great weekend. We just got back from a great couple days in San Juan Puerto Rico where we had a chance to be involved with some activities with Liberty Cable on the island. We also had a chance to visit with old friends and enjoy the beautiful island. As we start the new week there are no storms to report on, and we are counting the days until the end of the month and the official end to hurricane season. This of course is Thanksgiving week in the United States and we wish everyone the very best and encourage you to drive safely if you will be off to visit friends and relatives over the holidays. Well that’s all for now, it great to be back and we hope you have a great day.

Tuesday Thoughts and Updates

November 19, 2013

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all having a good Tuesday. Joey and I will be off to San Juan Puerto Rico tomorrow and we will be back on Monday, November 25th. Hey congratulations to Usain Bolt who captured his fifth Male Athlete of the Year award. On the weather front we are watching a storm in the Atlantic today. A sub tropical storm named Melissa is approximately 610 miles east of Bermuda. This storm has winds of 60 mph and is moving toward the northwest at 8 mph. There have been no watches or warnings issued at this time however. Well that’s all for now, thanks for checking back and have a great day.

Monday Updates

November 18, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here, I hope you had a great weekend. As we slide into a new week we are watching a developing storm in the Atlantic. We have a non-tropical low pressure system about 740 miles east-southeast of the island of Bermuda. This storm is producing gale force winds. Right now there is about a 90% chance of this storm becoming either a sub-tropical or tropical storm within the next 48 hours and the potential to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next five days. This system is moving N-NW at about 10 miles per hour. We will continue to watch and monitor this storm. Joey and I are getting ready to head to San Juan Puerto Rico this Wednesday. That’s it for today, keep checking back and have a great day everyone.

November 15, 2013

Good morning everyone….TGIF!!! Looking forward to the weekend with great anticipation as Joey and I get ready for our trip to Puerto Rico next week. I have good news on the weather front as we enter the weekend, there are no major storms out there that we are concerned about. We are also counting down the days until the official end of hurricane season on November 30th. We got a note the other day from our friends in Antigua and Barbuda reminding us the 15th annual Moods of Pan is coming up November 30 to December 1st. Don’t forget if you have an event going on where you live, drop us a line and let us know so we can put in on the community calendar on One Caribbean Television and also mention it here in our blog. That’s all for now, have a great weekend everyone and we will check in again next week.

Thursday Thoughts and Updates

November 14, 2013

Good morning all, Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens and we want to thank you for checking back. All is quiet on the weather front today with the exception of some disturbed weather off the southwest coast of Mexico. We really don’t think this will develop into anything over the next couple days but we just wanted to point it out and let you know that we are watching it. Joey and I will be headed down to San Juan Puerto Rico next Wednesday and look forward to seeing old friends. Sad news from the Bahamas the other day about the small plane that crashed and killed four passengers from the US. Did you hear that Usain Bolt admitted to eating about 1000 chicken nuggets from McDonalds while he was in China (said he wasn’t crazy about the food over ther) anyway it must have worked he won three gold medals!!!! I see a commercial in the future…..well that’s all for now, keep checking back and have a great day.

Good morning, Bob The Parrot here on what has become affectionately called “Hump Day”…..Joey and I are looking forward to our trip next week back to the island of Puerto Rico, we always enjoy going there and seeing old friends. Looking over the weather scene, things are quiet again today with no major storms out there. Good news for the young lady from Jamaica, Tessanne Chin, she has made the top 10 on the famous US show “The Voice”…..The US Government has given permission for US Air and American airlines to merge, hopefully this will mean good news for the Caribbean. Well that’s all for today, keep checking back and have a great day.
