Friday Updates

August 30, 2013

Good morning and good Friday everyone, Bob The Parrot here. Well Joey and I are looking forward to a good weekend, come to think of it I don’t ever remember a bad weekend!!! Watching the weather as we head into the weekend, there is a slight disturbance located about 700 miles East of the Lesser Antillies that is still slow to develop. This low pressure has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours. We will continue to watch it but there isn’t a lot of concern at this time. There is also another system moving off the coast of Africa that may be worth watching next week, we will also keep an eye on that over the weekend. As for our friends in Mexico, sub- tropical storm Juliette is moving away from land and should be no problem as we head into the weekend. There are no more watches or warnings with this system. Well that’s it for now, have a great weekend everyone and keep checking back.

Thursday Thoughts

August 29, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here. It’s a fairly quiet day however we do have a couple things we are watching on the weather front. Tropical Storm Juliette is located about 15 miles North-Northwest of Cabo San Lazaro Mexico with winds of 45 miles per hour and moving Northwest at 22 miles per hour. There are Tropical Storm Warning posted for both the West and East coasts of Baja California. Over in the Atlantic, we have a Tropical Wave located about 1000 East of the Lesser Antillies, this system is moving West around 15 miles per hour, it looks like this system will be slow to develop over the next couple days. Well that’s all for today, keep checking back and have a good day everyone.

Wednesday Updates

August 28, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here with your Wednesday updates. On the weather front Joey and I are watching a low pressure off the southwest coast of Mexico. This system has the potential to develop into something more, but it should produce heavy winds and rain for the coast up to Baja California over the next couple days. Don’t forget if you have some news or events going on where you live, send them along to Joey and I at One Caribbean Television so we can share them with our other friends. Also we hope that you are able to follow us on One Caribbean Television, if you don’t see the station, contact your cable provider and ask them if they would add the station. Did you see the video of the police offices in Notting Hill London dancing for the crowd at Carnival? It is priceless and our hats go off to them for being such good sports….well that’s it for today, keep checking back and have a wonderful day everyone.

Tuesday Thoughts

August 27, 2013

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Sad news, 13 people died in that Tropical Storm that moved across Mexico yesterday. Looking at the weather today, we are watching a low pressure system off the southwestern coast of Mexico, this system is putting down showers and thunderstorms and has the potential to develop into something bigger over the next several days. This system will bring some heavy rain to Southwestern Mexico and the southern Baja Peninsula over the next couple days. They were celebrating carnival in Notting Hill London the past couple days. Boston just wrapped up their festivities. It looks like the influence of the culture and traditions of the Caribbean continue to be celebrated beyond the boundries of the Caribbean. Congratulations to Haiti, after many delays they had their performance of Haiti On Ice last night, it was a huge success with figure skaters from France and Canada also performing for the audience. Well that’s all for today, keep checking back and have a great day.

Monday Mumblings

August 26, 2013

Good morning everyone, thanks for checking back, Bob The Parrot here and Joey and I hope you all had a great weekend. Looking at the weather maps today we have a Tropical Storm Fernand making it’s way into Eastern Mexico and producing some heavy rains, this storm will continue to push into land and should begin to decrease in strength as it does. At this writhing the storm was located about 95 miles northwest of Varacruz Mexico with winds of 40 miles per hour and moving northwest at 9 miles per hour. Don’t forget if you will be in the Curacao are that the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival is taking place August 30 and31st, this truly is one of the biggest and best jazz festivals in the Caribbean. Well that’s all for now, keep checking back and have a great day.

Finally Friday

August 23, 2013

Good morning everyone and TGIF….Bob The Parrot here, thanks for checking back. Well as we head to the weekend, Joey and I are watching a couple systems. There is a weak troph of low pressure currently in the northern gulf of Mexico that is producing a disorganized area of clouds and thunderstorms. This low will continue to move to the west at about 10 miles per hour, continuing to bring clouds and rain to the northern and northwestern gulf. There is a low chance of this developing into a tropical cyclone over the next five days but we will continue to watch and monitor it. We are also watching tropical depression #9 which is currently 560 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas Mexico. This system has winds of 35 miles per hour and is moving to the northwest at 7 miles per hour. There are no watches or warnings with this system right now. Interests in southern Baja California should monitor this storm. All indications are that the storm should stay away from land for at least a couple days, again we will continue to watch this storm and keep you updated. Remember you can get complete storm detail at One Caribbean Television. If you don’t currently receive this station, call your cable operator and ask them if they would please add it to your lineup. Well that’s all for now, have a great weekend everyone and keep checking back.

Thoughts For Thursday

August 22, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here, thanks for checking back. Well it is starting out as sort of a slow day, not that I am complaining mind you. The weather is cooperating again today with no major storms or potential for storms to report. That story about the possible doping of the Jamaica track team won’t go away, the government has been told to investigate and put their house in order, the penalty could be banning the Jamaica team from the Brazil Olympic Games….more to come on this unfolding story. Singer Chris Brown has been sentenced to 1000 hours of community service work. Well that’s all for today, we will be looking for you on One Caribbean Television. Have a good day everyone.

Wednesday Updates

August 21, 2013

Good morning everyone, thanks for checking back, Bob The Parrot here. Things continue to look good on the weather front, there are no major storm in either the Atlantic or Pacific so it looks like we can rest easy for another day. Just a reminder that one of the best jazz festivals in the Caribbean is coming up August 30-31…The Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival, make sure to make plans if you will be in the area. It won’t be long and the kids will be back in school…where did the summer go!!!??? Word comes in from our friends in Antigua and Barbuda that the Dejam Musical Festival will be taking place in September from the 13-27 so you might want to make plans to attend that if you will be in the area. Don’t forget you can follow Joey and I on my facebook page….Bob TheParrot….that’s it for now, keep checking back and have a great day.

Tuesday Thoughts

August 20, 2013

Good morning everyone…Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens. I am glad to report we don’t have any major storms out there today to deal with. I see where Usain Bolt was part of the winning relay team in Russia the other day, he came away with three gold metals. Keeping with sports, I see where Mark Walburgh the US actor has invested some of his money in a cricket team from Barbados called the Tridents. Don’t forget if you have a great picture to send us, send it along to OneCaribbeanTepevisionPics.com and we might use it on our nightly news cast. Also if you are still not receiving One Caribbean Television, contact your local cable provider and ask them if they would add it to your lineup. Well that’s it for now, keep checking back and have a wonderful day.
