Mid Weed Mumblings

April 24, 2013

Hello everyone, Bob The Parrot here, thanks for checking in. Not a lot going on right now, however I have alot of runnung around today to get ready for my trip with Joey tomorrow to Purto Rico. Great news from the tv front, One Caribbean Television has inked a deal with Lime to be part of their television package, so wherever Lime is broadcatong OCTV will be part of their lineup. Just a reminder if your cable system doesn’t carry the One Caribbean Television program, just give them a call and ask them to add it to their lineup. As I mentioned, we are off to Purto Rico and look forward to seeing alot of friends at the "Full Moon" party hosted by the BVI tomorrow night in San Juan. Well, that’s all for now, have a great day and we will see you back here next week.

Tuesday Thoughts

April 23, 2013

Good morning everyone, Bob The Parrot here catching up from my trip to Barbados last week with Joey. As mentioned earlier, we are headed to beautiful Purto Rico on Thursday. Speaking of San Juan, the BVI Tourist Board will be holding their Full Moon Party on Thursday night in San Juan. News for you sailors, the Guadeloupe to Antigua Race will take place on April 26th. Interesting note for all airline travelers, apparently knives are still banned from being carried on board flights. There was some talk they would ease up on this restriction, however not yet. Big news out of Trinidad, National Security Minister Jack Warner has resigned under allogations of wrong doing in his office. Well that’s all for today, have a great day and keep checking back.

Great To Be Back

April 22, 2013

Hi everybody, Bob The Parrot here with my sidekick Joey Stevens. Well, it is great to be back, however we had a great time last week in Barbados. Joey and I were down there to help our good friends from Flow (Columbus Communications) launch their new cable system. We presented the weather and talked with folks at Flow World which was open to the public. Some 5000 people were in attendance. Just a little tired today, travel will do that to you. Joey and I will be here for a couple days then we are back on the airplane headed to Puerto Rico for a couple days. We always love going to San Juan!! No big storms out there today, but we willl continue to watch. See you on One Caribbean Television…keep checking back and have a great day.

Hurrican Season Predictions

April 12, 2013

Hello everyone, just received some early Hurricans Season predictions for the upcoming season and wanted to pass them along to you. Colorado State University weather gurus Phil Klotzbach and William Grey are predicting a turbulent and above average storm season. They are predicting 18 named storms, including 9 hurricanes, 4 of which would be major. This compares with an average season of 12 storms, including 6 hurricanes, three with winds greater then 110 mph. According to the two climatologists, the tropical atlantic is unusually warm and el nino, the atmospheric force that inhibits storm formation is unlikely to emerge this season. Last year we had 19 named storms including 10 hurricanes including Isaac and Sandy which made it the third busiest season on record. Remember, these early forecasts are nothing to panic about, but it’s a good opportunity to start thinking about what you need to do to prepare for severe weather. Remember, we will provide you with continued updates and info throughout the season on One Caribbean Television.

Tuesday Thoughts

April 9, 2013

Good morning everyone, thanks for checking back. Not a whole lot happening today. Joey and I are still busy preparing for our trip to Barbados next week. No major storms to report on today, keep in mind official Hurricane Season kicks off June 1 and runs till the end of November. No predictions on this season released yet, will let you know when we find out something. Apparently four men, two from the US and two from Canada were trying to row from Africa to North America, a rogue wave capcised their boat and they had to be rescued off the coast of Puerto Rico. That must have been scary. Well that’s all for now, have a great day everyone….
