Looking Ahead To September

July 30, 2010

Bob and I are going to take a little break from traveling during August. Come September however we will be back on the airplanes. Sept 3rd and 4th is the North Sea Jazz festival on the beautiful island of Curacao. The festival will present big name talent like Lionel Ritchie, Natalie Cole, George Benson, Simply red, John Legend and Sergio Mendez just to mention a sample of the talent. Bob and I are really looking forward to seeing all our friend on Curacao and the great concert they have planned. You can get their complete lineup by checking out North Sea Jazz festival 2010. September 16th we will be making a return visit to Trinidad, we have been away from there for way too long and look forward with great anticipation to returning. Before returning home we will probably make a stop over at Barbados for some business and to catch up with old friends. Bob and I love to travel throughout the Caribbean and we only hope that if you are in the neighborhood that you will stop by and say hello. I’ll update you all when I hear more.

Guyana Is beautiful

July 21, 2010

Well Bob and I are back from our visit to Guyana. I went there with no idea of what I would find. What we did find was some of the warmest, kindest, people we have met. They rolled out the red carpet and went way out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. The secret however is that they really didn’t have to be so nice, all they had to do is be themselves. I really enjoyed the capital Georgetown, the older buildings, a reminder of years gone by were just great to see. They also have mixed in some new structures which give the city a nice balance. We visited the Seawall on Sunday night where it seems everyone hangs out, the folks were very receptive to our visit and very friendly. The rainforests, rivers and falls of the interior are like nothing I have seen before, it was a total adventure that you truly need to experience to believe. We stayed at several Eco Tourist lodges and really enjoyed the experience. I would truly recommend a visit to Guyana if you are looking for a “different” vacation and you are into hiking, boating, 4×4 and flying. If you are into “green” and eco this is definitely the place for you. Would I go back…you bet, I found it exzillerating…Bob The Parrot on the other hand is still resting!

Big Thank You

I went to my mailbox today and found a wonderful surprise. I received a package from Dimas Guerrero, thought by many to be the best artist in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye in Belize. Mr. Guerrero sent me a small parrot made from Black Coral as a rememberance of my trip to San Pedro for Lobsterfest. If you should see him please tell him how much I appreciate his gesture and how much I will cherish my parrot.
