Bob’s frightened by storms!

September 5, 2008 by onecaribbeanweather

1.  With all the storms lately, I need to put rocks in my feathers to keep me grounded.

2.  Capt. Ron took me for a ride on his motorcycle, my feathers were blown all over the place, but I did get some good bugs in my beak!

3.  When we Travel to the Caribbean, Joey keeps me in the suitcase, one of these days we are going down there and I’m gonna keep Joey in the suit case!

4.  My favorite day is when Joey, Capt. Ron, and I are laying on the beach watching the sunset with one of those fancy umbrella drinks.

5.  I’ve heard some people say I’m stuffed.  I resent that!  I don’t eat that much!

6.  My favorite time in Trinidad was at Club 51 Degrees, I was dancing with all the beautiful women, I have no idea where Joey was.

7.  I just looked at the calendar, I see that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, boy am I glad that I was born a parrot!

8.  I took Capt. Ron’s Jeep for a spin the other night, he doesn’t mind as long as I replace the gas I use!

Bob’s mid-summer wisdom

July 30, 2008 by onecaribbeanweather

I enjoy partying with Captain Ron because Joey makes me pay for my own drinks.

I like sitting on Joey’s shoulder day after day (and I think he likes it, too) and he has the scars to prove it!

This is no bad pun…some are better than others but there are no bad ones!

You can always tell when I’ve had a good night.  I usually fall off Joey’s shoulder the next day on the show.

I like being on TV but I must admin the lights get me HOT! HOT! HOT!

I don’t like to complain but Joey’s cologne ruffles my feathers.

I just realized that Bob spelled backwards is still BOB!

Bob the Parrot tells all

1. The reason I don’t talk on the show is because it would be too intellectual for Joey to understand. Let’s not forget who the birdbrain is here!

2. I have a girlfriend in Costa Rica (she’s a cockatoo). Her mom feels we are too young to fly the coop however.

3. Joey makes me wear these flowered shirts – Do you really think that I would dress this way if i dressed myself.

4. Joey says I drink too much. Personally, after dealing with him, I don’t think I drink enough!

5. Some of you might not know it but I am running for President on the birdbrain ticket. “VOTE FOR BOB”

6. I’ve heard people say “How can you work with that dumb bird?” Really, Joey isn’t that bad of guy!

7. Yes I do smoke. Its a vice, get over it! Besides Capt. Ron is directly responsible for all of my vices. You want to point a finger at someone? I suggest behind the director’s door.

It’s officially hurricane season

June 3, 2008 by onecaribbeanweather

Has it been a year already?!  The official start of the hurricane season was Monday after National Hurricane Preparedness week, May 25 – 31st.

Here are planning tips from NOAA:

spacer

Discuss the type of hazards that could affect your family. Know your home’s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind.
Locate a safe room or the safest areas in your home for each hurricane hazard. In certain circumstances the safest areas may not be your home but within your community.
Determine escape routes from your home and places to meet.
Have an out-of-state friend as a family contact, so all your family members have a single point of contact.
Make a plan now for what to do with your pets if you need to evacuate.
Post emergency telephone numbers by your phones and make sure your children know how and when to call 911.
Check your insurance coverage – flood damage is not usually covered by homeowners insurance. National Flood Insurance Program
Stock non-perishable emergency supplies and a Disaster Supply Kit.
Use a NOAA weather radio. Remember to replace its battery every 6 months, as you do with your smoke detectors.

Here’s a tracking chart you can download.

I love the Caribbean as much as you do

May 20, 2008 by onecaribbeanweather

I love it HOT HOT HOT!  The Caribbean is perfect any time of the year.  Hell, I live here and love it – even when the weather doesn’t cooperate with my outdoor plans.

Thanks for visiting the companion web site to the CBS/WSEE weather broadcast. We’ve spent months thinking about and building the thing…but we’ll change it at the drop of a hat if you send us comments!
